So, what will happen to Tepido.org?

My plans are: Keep the content as-is as a historical record. Change the top-level URL to http://tepido.whatjapanthinks.com/ and update all internal links to keep it there. Sell off the Tepido.org domain, although naturally not as a going concern nor any of the contents, just the URL itself.

Just wanted to get this off my chest

You are probably all familiar with this definition: Cult: A sect one doesn’t like. Let me create a similar definition: Stalking: A Google search one doesn’t like. Connected with this, Mr Arudou recently commented on Mr Spiri’s hatchet job in Japan Times, an article which the more I thought about it, the less I felt [...]

Turning off nested comments, turning on @Reply

Since the Assfinger thread blew up WordPress’s comment threading, I’ve switched back to chronological threads, but now if you hover over a comment a "Reply" button appears in the bottom right, which puts a link back to the post into your reply, using the @Reply plugin. Unfortunately, there seems to be no way to keep [...]

It’s fun at the D-M-C-A

See here, and here. First up: 空 phoned up Zuiunsha and they stated that they hadn’t filed and didn’t intend to file a DMCA complaint. Thanks 空! I am not a lawyer, of course, but let me state my position on this particular issue: first, I would support Mr Arudou if he decides to sue [...]

Disqus comments…

As you might have noticed, I’ve decided to try out a new commenting thing; let me know how it goes. The first thing I notice is that it doesn’t do all the emoticons… The second thing is that there is a slight formatting problem.

Let’s take a little breather shall we?

Due to information I’ve read on other sites and some out-of-band feedback, it does appear that some people really are convinced that “we” have some top-secret black-hat data-mining tool that has been gathering information on 63 Debito.org posters for some reason or other, all based on an evidence-free post from James Grey and backed up [...]

"collectively identified 63 debito posters"

That is a flat-out lie, as I have a million and one more useful things to do with my time, and of course no such thread actually did appear. The posts on that subject disappeared at some point around the weekend. Oh how convenient. Quite frankly, I think that they are a strange bunch. At [...]

So long and thanks for all the fish

Whoever said no publicity was bad publicity was exactly right! Thanks to this site and a bit of cookie pushing I have sold a few hundred copies of In Appropriate to first earn a nice bit of commission through Clickbank, and second have achieved my sales target and got a performance bonus from Debito. Cheers [...]

Due to popular demand…

colon-facepalm-colon will work while I try to figure out how to get it to appear in the comment form.
